Who is Ability Central?

Ability Central is the philanthropic division of the California Communications Access Foundation (CCAF), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2003.

We are dedicated to improving communication and accessibility for people with disabilities.

Our mission is to serve as a resource, convener, and educator working collaboratively to ensure that people who are Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent can communicate and access information.

How does Ability Central ensure the quality of its content?

Information in the Ability Central Resource Library is gathered from a variety of trusted sources, including government and international datasets, reputable organizations, and community-based resources. Our goal is to provide content that is accurate, helpful, and accessible.

We work with experts, researchers, and members of the Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent communities to help inform and review our materials. Each resource is carefully considered with the needs of the disability community in mind.

We are continually working to expand content and resources. If you do not see information relevant to your disability, we welcome your suggestions and feedback. Please contact us to recommend new topics or resources.
