Our board of directors provides governance and directional guidance of every aspect of our organization.
Linda Drattell
Director
Linda Drattell is an award-winning poet and writer who became deafened in her thirties and had to relearn to navigate social, professional, and family relationships. She has chronicled this experience through her nonfiction, fiction, and poetry, with works published in anthologies, newsletters, literary magazines, and online publications. She is the author of two poetry collections, a children’s book, and an upcoming novel scheduled for release in 2026.
Linda joined the Board of Directors in 2022. She has held the positions of director of community relations for the Deaf Counseling, Advocacy and Referral Agency; past president of the Association of Late-Deafened Adults (ALDA); president and founder of the Bay Epicenter of Advocacy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing; board member of the TriValley Writers Chapter of the California Writers Club, and past member of the BART Accessibility Task Force. She is currently a member of ALDA, the Hearing Loss Association of America, and the California Writers Club. She holds an MBA from American University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Linda splits her time between Boulder and Barcelona and celebrates life as a wife and mother.
